These are the early games, lines and predictions for Major League Baseball on Sunday March 31, 2024.
Philadelphia Phillies vs Atlanta Braves Betting Odds
Starting Pitcher | Alternate Run Line | Alternate Total Runs | MoneyLine |
Phillies (Ranger Suarez) |
+1.5 -142 |
U8.5 +100 |
+114 |
Braves (Chris Sale) |
-1.5 120 |
O 8.5 -120 |
-135 |
**Odds Courtesy of DraftKings |
Prediction: Atlanta’s lineup has stepped up the first two games and has worn out the Phillies bullpen. Going against Suarez, and a pitching staff that looks worn out already, that even if Sale does not have his best stuff, I like the Braves to get a road sweep in Philadelphia.
Pick: MoneyLine -135
Baltimore Orioles vs Los Angeles Angels Betting Odds
Starting Pitcher | Alternate Run Line | Alternate Total Runs | MoneyLine |
Orioles (Tyler Wells) |
-1.5 +124 |
U 9 -120 |
-162 |
Angels (Ryan Detmers) |
+1.5 -148 |
O9 +100 |
+136 |
**Odds Courtesy of DraftKings |
Prediction: Baltimore have scored 24 runs in their first two games, and this young core is ready to dominate the American League. Wells should have a good outing on Sunday against an Angels squad that continues to spin its wheels. I can see the Orioles offense not only winning, but also look for the game to be over 9 runs. Baltimore has been over in the last five games against the Angels.
Pick: Baltimore Over 9 (+100) and MoneyLine (-162)
Cincinnati Reds vs. Washington Nationals Betting Odds
Starting Pitcher | Alternate Run Line | Alternate Total Runs | MoneyLine |
Reds (Nick Martinez) |
-1.5 +110 |
U 10 -105 |
-175 |
Nationals (Jake Irvin) |
+1.5 -130 |
O 10 -115 |
+145 |
**Odds Courtesy of DraftKings |
Prediction: Martinez has nice stats against the Nationals in his career. Washington has hit .219 over 32 at-bats against Martinez. I am thinking the Reds will bounce back after Saturday’s loss and beat the Nationals to take the series.
Pick: Cincinnati -1.5 (+110), MoneyLine (-175)
Miami Marlins vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Betting Odds
Starting Pitcher | Alternate Run Line | Alternate Total Runs | MoneyLine |
Marlins (Trevor Rogers) |
-1.5 +160 |
U 8.5 -118 |
-125 |
Pirates (Bailey Falter) |
+1.5 -192 |
O 8.5 -102 |
+105 |
**Odds Courtesy of DraftKings |
Prediction: Pittsburgh is looking for a four-game sweep, and a big reason has been the offense, which has scored six or more runs in each of the first three games. Seven Pirates batters have faced Rogers lifetime, and they have a .345 (10-29) lifetime average against him. A player to watch is Andrew McCutchen, who is 6-12 with three home runs against Rogers. I like the Pirates to sweep the four-game series against Miami.
Pick: Pirates MoneyLine (+105)
New York Mets vs. Milwaukee Brewers Betting Odds
Starting Pitcher | Alternate Run Line | Alternate Total Runs | MoneyLine |
Mets (Tylor Megill) |
-1.5 +150 |
U 8 -115 |
-142 |
Brewers (Colin Rea) |
+1.5 -180 |
O 8 -105 |
+120 |
** Odds Courtesy of DraftKings |
Prediction: The Brew Crew are looking for a road sweep to start the season. This game could be chippy, especially after what happened on Saturday with brushback pitches, and taunts to the dugout. So, I will go with the hot team, and take Milwaukee covering the run line.
Pick: Milwaukee +1.5 Alternate Run Line (-180)
