Creighton needed every day off they got this week after an exhilarating double overtime win against Oregon on Sunday. The Bluejays are led by shooting guard Baylor Scheierman (18.3 PPG, 9.1 RPG) and three-time Big East DPOY Ryan Kalkbrenner (17.4 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 3.1 BPG). Creighton has been flirting with a final four run for years and this may be their best chance yet.
Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee is going to need to dust themselves off after a slugfest against Texas. The Vols are coming off an SEC regular season title, led by SEC Player of the Year Dalton Knecht. Knecht has the ability to take over a game and is one of the most exciting players to watch in the country. Coach Rick Barnes is trying to shake off the narrative that his teams can’t perform in March.
Game Prediction
Both these teams have national championship ceilings. There is star power all over the floor and we should be in store for some elite shotmaking. While Tennessee has the best player on the floor in Knecht, Creighton has more guys that can beat you. Because of this, I am going to roll with the underdog Bluejays covering the spread in what should be a fun game.
