The Toronto Raptors (23-39) travel to the Phoenix Suns (36-26) on Thursday. This will be the second game of the regular season between these two sides. But in the first game, it wasn’t particularly close, as Minnesota beat Indiana by 18 points. Furthermore, the Timberwolves are tied for first in the Western Conference with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Meanwhile, the Pacers are one game behind the Miami Heat for an automatic spot in the NBA Playoffs.
Therefore, there is a lot to play for tonight in terms of seeding. Additionally, a couple of key injury updates may impact how this game plays out. Also, the latest injury news may explain why the spread is where it’s at. Regardless, this should be a good game, as both sides are coming off a win.
However, do you see the Pacers defending their home court against the Timberwolves tonight?

Key Stats
Phoenix Suns
Phoenix is coming off a good win against the Denver Nuggets. But it took a great effort from Kevin Durant, who scored 35 points. Additionally, Grayson Allen had a big day as he went eight of 12 from three-point range and chipped in 28 points in the overtime game. Devin Booker remains out with an injury for tonight’s game.
Therefore, the Nuggets will be hoping that Bradley Beal can get himself going again, as he only scored 16 points against the Denver team in their last game. However, as mentioned, Durant cannot be the only person who scores. And while Allen’s outburst was nice, others will likely need to step up if they’re going to avoid a loss to the Toronto Raptors tonight.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto will be without the services of Jakob Poeltl, as he underwent surgery. He’s not expected back until about a month. Meanwhile, Immanuel Quickly is coming off a team-high 17-point game against the New Orleans Pelicans, but most impressively, four other teammates scored in double figures for the Toronto Raptors in that game.
But notably, Gary Trent Jr. was able to get himself going from range and pitched in 16 points. Furthermore, RJ Barrett did most of his damage within the arc and finished with 15 points. However, if he can also knock down some of the three-point shots, then he could be due for an explosion. Although the postseason is out of the question at this point, they’re still looking to pile on a couple of wins before the end of the season.
Game Prediction
Phoenix picked up a good road win against the Denver Nuggets. But before that, they dropped two games in a row and nearly lost to the Houston Rockets in the first game. Furthermore, they often look out-of-sorts throughout the year. But they need to keep their focus on this Toronto Raptors team. Yes, the Phoenix team should win tonight, but they have dropped multiple winnable games this year. Furthermore, the offense has been too reliant on Durant this year.
Especially in the playoffs, others need to be more directly involved in the scheme. But the Raptors have had something of a late uptick. Therefore, I am picking against the spread and taking the Raptors. Although the Suns should win, it’s hard to see them take this game by more than double digits tonight. Furthermore, the point total is too high. Consequentially, I like the under here. While Phoenix may win, the Toronto Raptors will help keep it low-scoring and closer than expected.
Final Pick
Toronto Raptors +10.5 and Under 231
