2025 NHL Western Conference Winner Odds, Analysis, & Prediction

NHL Western Conference winners odds, Las Vegas Golden Knights

This 2025 NHL Western Conference Winner Odds, Analysis, & Prediction will examine the latest futures betting odds and make a pick as we wrap up the Regular Season. The 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs begin on April 20, with the puck dropping on the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals in June. Last season, the Panthers won the championship, icing the Oilers in 7 games. Right now, oddsmakers have the Dallas Stars as the favorites to win the Stanley Cup as well as the West. Let’s take a look at these Western Conference futures numbers, analyze five clubs, and make a pick.

2025 Western Conference Winner Odds, Analysis, & Prediction

2025 NHL Western Conference Winner Odds

  • Dallas Stars +310
  • Vegas Golden Knights +380
  • Colorado Avalanche +500
  • Edmonton Oilers +500
  • Winnipeg Jets +500
  • Los Angeles Kings +900
  • Minnesota Wild +2100
  • St Louis Blues +2300
  • Calgary Flames +21000
  • Utah Hockey Club +50000
  • Vancouver Canucks +50000

Dallas Stars (+310)

The Stars (50-22-6) have used their usually stingy defense to put themselves again in a position to make a run at the Stanley Cup. With goalies Jake Oettinger (36-15-4, 2.46 GAA) and Casey DeSmith (14-7-1, 2.38 GAA), Dallas can hang with the best teams in the league and this team is pretty good at Home (28-8-2).

The Stars have some solid scorers in Matt Duchene (79 points), Jason Robertson (78 points), Wyatt Johnson (68 points), and Roope Hintz (65 points). But navigating the Western Conference will be challenging. Dallas last went to a Stanley Cup Finals in 2020, where it lost to Tampa Bay in 6 games. If the Western Conference Playoffs started today, the Stars would face the Avalanche and have the home-ice advantage.

Vegas Golden Knights (+380)

The Golden Knights (47-22-9) are on top in the Pacific Division, and if the Western Conference Playoffs started now, Vegas would host the red-hot St. Louis Blues (Wild Card 1) in what would be a tough draw for VGK.

This team won the Stanley Cup two years ago and has strong goalies in Adin Hill (30-13-5, 2.49 GAA), Ilya Samsonov (16-9-3, 2.79 GAA), and even new backup Akira Schmid (1-0-1, 1.34 GAA). On the attack, Jack Eichel (93 points), Mark Stone (67 points), Tomáš Hertl (59 points), Shea Theodore (54 points), and Pavel Dorofeyev (50 points) lead the Golden Knights (27-9-3 at Home). To win the Western Conference will mean having to beat three very tough opponents, and there just isn’t enough perceived value at these +380 odds.

Edmonton Oilers (5/1)

The Oilers (44-24-9) fell just one period short of winning the Stanley Cup last season, losing to the Panthers in a thrilling 7-game series. So, can Canada get its first Stanley Cup since 1992-93 when the Montréal Canadiens were NHL champs? Edmonton will get Leon Draisaitl (106 points, 52 goals) back for the NHL Playoffs, and with Connor McDavid (90 points, 64 assists), Evan Bouchard (62 points), and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (49 points), they can score with anyone in the league.

But the big question, as always, is: Can the Oilers stop anyone from scoring against them? . If the Western Conference Playoffs started today, the Oilers would face the Los Angeles Kings (9/1 to win Western Conference), the best Home team in the NHL (29-5-4).

Winnipeg Jets (5/1)

The Jets (53-21-4) have had the best record in all of the 2024-25 NHL Regular Season and have been the most consistent team, but oddsmakers aren’t putting much value in that. Goalie Connor Hellebuyck (44-12-3, 2.03 GAA) is having a career year, but Winnipeg (29-6-4 at Home) will likely only go as far as Hellebuyck, and he can’t start every game, can he?

On offense, the Jets are led by Kyle Connor (91 points), Mark Scheifele (63 points), Nikolaj Ehlers (63 points), Gabriel Vilardi (61 points), and Josh Morrissey (56 points). At these 5/1 odds, there is some perceived value with backing Winnipeg, but the Western Conference is loaded with the Stars, Golden Knights, Oilers, Avalanche, and even the red-hot Blues.

St Louis Blues (23/1)

If the Blues (43-29-7) squeeze into these upcoming NHL Playoffs, will anybody want to play them? This recent run (won 12 of last 13) is reminiscent of 2019 when St. Louis went on a late-season tear to win the Stanley Cup. And who was their Goalie back then? None other than Jordan Binnington (27-21-4, 2.68 GAA).

This team isn’t scared of anyone right now and, at 41/1 odds to win the 2025 Stanley Cup, are worth a longshot look. This surge has helped the Blues pass the Wild in the Western Conference standings. To win the West will mean having to beat VGK in the opening round, followed by maybe Los Angeles or Edmonton, and then maybe Colorado or Dallas. It wouldn’t be easy, but it could be done.

Final Thoughts and NHL Western Conference Winner Pick

At these odds, the Oilers look like the best bet for a Western Conference winner. Getting key cog Draisaitl back will be huge, and I expect Edmonton to want to score its way back to the Stanley Cup Finals. If the Oilers do face the Kings in Round 1, this is a series the defending Western Conference champions can win. It seems the hardest team for Edmonton in this conference may be the Stars. Edmonton remembers how close it came last year and will be driven by those bitter memories. And if the Oilers somehow end up facing the Blues in the Western Conference Playoffs, we will have quite a story. Canada needs a Stanley Cup.

Final Pick

Oilers 5/1
