This 2025 MLB World Series Winner Odds, Analysis, & Prediction will look at the latest futures betting numbers and break down five clubs who have a realistic chance to get to the Fall Classic. Last year, the Dodgers won their second championship in 5 years under manager Dave Roberts, beating the AL champion New York Yankees 4-1 in a matchup of two storied franchises. Oddsmakers rightfully have Los Doyers as the prohibitive favorite in this market, but can anyone stop them from repeating? Let’s take a look.

Los Angeles Dodgers (+240)
This team seems even better than last season. The Dodgers have the best player in the MLB (Shohei Ohtani), a great manager in Roberts, and an absolutely loaded pitching staff. This team basically has six aces in Ohtani—who didn’t pitch last season due to injury—two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell, Roki Sasaki, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, and club legend Clayton Kershaw. And they are loaded in the Minors also. This team has the deepest roster we have seen in a very long time. And this team—which started off 5-0—has been very good to Run Line (-1.5 runs) bettors as well. Since 2022, the Dodgers have won 313 regular-season games, with 259 of them by 2+ runs (all but 54). This could be the start of a Dodger Blue dynasty.
Atlanta Braves (+850)
Many think the Braves can be the NL team to derail the Dodgers train. Atlanta does have some great starters in Chris Sale (22/1 to win NL Cy Young), Spencer Strider (25/1), Reynalda Lopez (60/1), and Spencer Schwellenbach. But the Braves were 2-5 vs Los Angeles last season and had to deal with injuries to Strider, star Ronald Acuña, Michael Harris II, Sean Murphy, and Ozzie Albies, among others. Staying healthy will be a big key for this team and it seems they have a better chance of winning the NL East (+150, FanDuel) than making the 2025 World Series. Simply getting to the NLCS will be hard.
New York Yankees (+900)
Aaron Judge and the Bronx Bombers made it to the 2024 World Series, only to fall on their faces. Losing Soto will definitely hurt, but the Yankees signed Cody Bellinger, Paul Goldschmidt, and relief pitcher Fernando Cruz. They may have to worry about their rivals, the seemingly improved Red Sox (18/1), in the AL East. Like many, this club’s starting pitching is a huge question mark, and losing ace Gerrit Cole for the year really hurt. Southpaw Cole will have Tommy John surgery on his left arm. Should they somehow meet the Dodgers again in the 2025 World Series, the Yankees just won’t have the arms.
Philadelphia Phillies (+1000)
Maybe the only team that could upset the Dodgers in the Junior Circuit—Philadelphia was 5-1 vs the World Series champions last season—the Phillies have a decent staff with Zach Wheeler, Aaron Nola, Ranger Suárez, Jesus Luzardo, and Christopher Sanchez. But like all teams, avoiding injuries will be a huge key and Suárez is on the 15-day DL, SS Trea Turner is ailing, and catcher JT Realmuto was injured in Saturday’s win over the Nationals. With Kyle Schwarber, Las Vegans Bryson Stott and Bryce Harper, Turner, and Nick Castellanos, this team can hit with anyone. And the Phillies are also very good at Home and went 54-27 at Citizens Bank Park last season. A potential Dodgers-Phillies series in the NL Playoffs may be more important than the 2025 World Series.
New York Mets (+1100)
The Metropolitans snagged slugger Juan Soto from the Yankees in the offseason, but like Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Arizona, this NL club will first have to make the NL Playoffs. The NL East may be the most stacked division in the MLB. After that, it will be a challenge with three rounds of hell just to get to the World Series. Last year, New York NL went 89-73 and after beating the Brewers in the NL Wild Card round, were eliminated by the Phillies in the NLDS, 3-1. This team is always its own worst enemy, and getting Soto was big, but it’s hard to trust the Mets’ pitching staff, who had a 3.96 ERA and just one shutout in 2024.
Final Thoughts and World Series Winner Pick
Everyone sees from this distance that the Dodgers are the team to beat this season, and this club could very well win 120 games when all is said and done. But are there any good longshots who could upend the apple cart? For me, the Diamondbacks (33/1) seem like a good pizza-money throw in this futures market. This +240 we see may be the best number Dodgers backers will get and we are still in April. The defending champions opened at +400 in this market and were bet down to +275 on Opening Day. Although the perceived value seems gone already, it’s too hard to suggest to back any other team in this market.
Final Pick
Dodgers +240
