2024 US Open: Men’s Semifinal Odds – Who Will Make the Final?

2024 US Open

The 2024 US Open has reached Championship Weekend. The women’s semifinals have been completed, with Aryna Sabelenka taking on Jessica Pegular in the final on Saturday—a rematch from the Western and Southern Open. But on Friday, the men take center stage at the 2024 US Open as Jannik Sinner battles Jack Draper in the first semifinal. Then the All-American Affair between Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe will be in Primetime.

At the beginning of the tournament, Jannik Sinner was the third favourite at +350 to win the title. Meanwhile, Fritz and Tiafoe were each at +5000, with Draper off the board. Now, Sinner is the favourite at -225, with Fritz at +350, Draper at +800 and Tiafoe at +1000.

On the women’s side, with Iga Swiatek out, Sabalenka is the favorite to win the title. That should be the case as she has won two Australian Open titles and is in back-to-back US Open Finals.

We know an American will be in the final of the US Open for the first time since 2006; the question is whether it will be Fritz or Tiafoe and who they will face.

Jack Draper (+425) vs. Jannik Sinner (-650)

The odds favour the Australian Open Champion and World Number One in this match. Sinner is looking to bookend the year with majors. As previously mentioned, he won Down Under and looks good. It was a weird quarterfinal against Daniil Medvedev, but he dominated the 2021 US Open champion in the three sets he won. Sinner is back to form after a shaky European season and dodging a suspension for doping allegations.

However, he has a formidable opponent, Jack Draper. Draper has not dropped a set getting to the semifinals of the US Open. He is carrying the English flag. The last man to win here from Great Britain was Andy Murray. Draper is the freshest player out there because he did not play in the Olympics. It has been a long tennis season. However, Sinner, who missed some time, is striking the ball cleanly. Sinner is coming into the net more than he ever has.

This first semifinal at the 2024 US Open should be fun. Expect the World Number One to win, but this could go four sets.

Frances Tiafoe (+220) vs. Taylor Fritz (-275)

The All-American Battle will be in Primetime at the 2024 US Open. It is the first time since 2005 that there has been an All-American semifinal at the US Open. It is the third straight year an American has made the semifinals on the men’s side. Tiafoe has done it twice. This is Fritz’s first trip to the semifinals.

One of these men will guarantee that there will be an American in the final on Sunday. Both Fritz and Tiafoe are looking to end a 21-year drought. The last man to win a major from the United States was Andy Roddick in 2003 at the US Open. Roddick is also the last American male to reach a final. That was 2009 Wimbledon.

Lots are riding on this one for both men. Fritz is showing the mental strength necessary to win. Look at how he has battled in his previous two rounds against Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud. Fritz had to fight back in both matches. There were some shaky moments, and you thought, here we go again for Fritz. But he found a way and hit his mark. He won two tiebreaks against Zverev and got crucial break points to win against Ruud.

His serve and forehand were firing. They must be on point because “Big Foe,” as he is called, will be ready. He is serving well and hitting his ground strokes well. Tiafoe likes to use the New York crowd and the energy from Arthur Ashe Stadium to pull him through matches. He labelled the court “His House.” Look at that five-set epic against Ben Shelton in the Round of 16. Like Fritz, Tiafoe had to find a way to claw out holes to win. It’s similar to the Dimitrov match. Grigor Dimitrov looked in control when Tiafoe took over. Unfortunately for Grigor, he had to retire due to injury.

Expect the second semifinal at the 2024 US Open to go the distance. This could be an epic five-setter.
